A licensed structural engineer turned software developer. The awesome feeling of writing a program never really left me after I finished graduate school. Even after I worked as a structural engineer for years designing commercial offices and residences to seismic retrofits on existing buildings around the Pacific Northwest and even working in the public sector, there were only so many years I could be in the industry before really feeling that pull back into writing software and needing a change.

My interests in computing revolve around distributed systems, data visualization techniques, web development, and writing tools at the intersection of software and structural engineering.
